چکیده

The ability of a commercial tannin-based coagulant on the decolorization simulated textile effluent containing reactive dye was studied in batch mode. For comparison, two conventional chemical coagulants (aluminum sulfate and Rifloc 6548-organic coagulant) were also tested. Preliminary assays suggested higher performance Tanfloc SG over metal salt. Optimization conducted for SG, indicated maximum color removal 86.4%, recorded at dosage 240 mg/L pH 7. A efficiency 42.4% found optimized 144 9. At this condition, treatment cost using estimated as 0.21 EUR/m3, around twice when used 96 mg/L, generating 81% efficiency. outperformed Tanfloc, its use seemed to be more economical but may have negative impacts environment. However, still showed promising results presented better terms sedimentation velocity floc size.

C.o.d Reduction of Reactive Dyeing Effluent from Cotton Textile Industry

The present study focuses on the improvement in the effluent treatment for the effluent generated from a cotton textile industry employing three reactive dyeing methods viz., Exhaust method, Pad-Dry-Cure method, and Pad-Batch method. Stabilisation pond, aeration tank, and aerobic biological treatment (using E-Coli type bacteria) are simulated in the laboratory in a series operation. Results rev...

Effective Removal of Acid Black 1 Dye in Textile Effluent Using Alginate from Brown Algae as a Coagulant

In this study, the Acid Black 1 dye containing effluent collected from a dyeing unit was examined with the alginate extracted from the marine brown algae, Sargassum sp. for its removal. Batch experiments were carried out using standard Jar test apparatus. Fourier Transform InfraRed (FT-IR) Spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) techniques were used to characterize the raw algin...

Treatment of a Textile Effluent from Dyeing with Cochineal Extracts Using Trametes versicolor Fungus

Trametes versicolor (Tv) fungus can degrade synthetic dyes that contain azo groups, anthraquinone, triphenylmethane polymers, and heterocyclic groups. However, no references have been found related to the degradation of natural dyes, such as the carminic acid that is contained in the cochineal extract. Experiments to determine the decolorization of the effluent used in the cotton dyeing process...

Artificial neural network modeling for decolorization of textile dye effluent

Introduction Effluents from the textile industry are not only colored but also contain large amounts of color, COD, BOD and dissolved solids. Textile industry is the one producing huge amount of wastewater. Due to stringent environmental regulations, treatment is mandatory before discharge the effluent. Conventional treatment methods include activated carbon adsorption, solvent extraction, chem...

Decolourisation of reactive textile dye effluent by using Bacterial strain

The study was investigated the decolorization potentials of certan selected microbial species (bacterial) to an actual textile dyeing industry effluent. All the microbes tested namely (bacterial) Bacillus sp, pseudomonas sp, Acineto bacter, Legionella and Staphylococcus (bacterial) showed greater potential in decolorizing the dye effluent. Bacterial decolorization of textile effluents were crit...
